In November of 2014 I got an email that would change my life. It said
“I want you to do something great for WordPress”.
And HeroPress was sparked into being. For 10 years now we’ve been reaching out, connecting people, and bringing global focus to people doing great work all over the world.
What a wholesome difference we get to make. Here is Andrew Palmer, a sponsor sharing his thoughts:
Why are we raising funds?
In many ways HeroPress is a labor of love, but we do need to pay people for working on this project to keep it running.
Anything you can do is much appreciated.
Many thanks to those that have given…

Comments from fans.
Just wanted to reach out and say how much I keep getting inspired and touched by HeroPress posts, the effect it has on me every single time I read a post never ceases to amaze me.
Thank you for making that, and for continuing to do it so far. You’re changing so many lives!

Writing an essay like that really helped me in taking a next step in connecting the dots. It’s important to take time to reflect, and yet, that is one of the first things to be off the table when work pressure rises, for instance. Over the years, and this essay has been a part of that for sure, I have gotten to know myself better. Gotten to understand how I’m wired, and to accept that I’m wired like that for a reason. That we all have value to bring to this world. Although unfortunately, the world seems to be kinder to people who thing and work in a more linear fashion. I still have a dream about doing a talk about that….
And I think that one of the amazing things of HeroPress is that it shows others how everyone is different, everyone has their unique rough patches, and if they can work through them, you, as reader can too

[Writing a HeroPress essay] made me feel like a greater part of the community. Accepted. Seen. I wrote it before I was widely-known in the community (you didn’t know me when you reached out, for example). I think it made me feel more legitimate and less like I was outside looking in.

The stories from HeroPress have motivated me and encouraged me to come out of my shell and chase my dreams. Several years back when I was really struggling with my career, reading inspiring stories from people all over the world finding success through WordPress rekindled my hopes and dreams – literally leading me to where I am today. I am eternally thankful for HeroPress!
